This washed Rwandan coffee is produced by the Rwanda Trading Company. It is gathered from small-hold farmers from across the country where it is grown in rich, fertile volcanic soils and is then hulled, sorted and graded in Kigali. We’ve developed a roast profile that we feel highlights the beautiful sparkling acidity this Rwandan naturally exhibits and we find it’s brewed best as an espresso. As an espresso it shows notes of honeydew melons and kiwis with a sparkling lemon finish. It brews milk-based beverages presenting notes of caramel covered in milk chocolate with a subtle hint of vanilla chai spice.
Inzovu Coffee is comprised of coffee from 56 washing stations and 80 000 farmers across the country. This washed coffee exemplifies the best of Rwandan coffee and is produced by smallhold farmers who each have fewer than 300 trees.
The Rwanda Trading Company have been producing coffee in Rwanda since 2009 and were originally started as a vehicle for positive social impact, whilst focusing on quality and investing in production.
They now own 16 wet & dry mills across Rwanda and strive to produce better quality to fetch higher premiums for all their farmers.
